Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, Rosie Riveters, and FloridaMakes have partnered together tocreate awareness and confidence in young girls to pursue careers in the manufacturingfield.
The “Manufacturing in a Box” pilot program will introduce young girls to the opportunitiesand skills in the Manufacturing field. Through guided Rosie Riveters kits, girls will explorecareers in manufacturing by building a balloon powered car, an art bot, a slingshot rocket,and make a binary wearable.
These pre-built hands-on and interactive lessons are based on providing a productivestruggle to build participants’ critical thinking, problem solving skills, and overall confidencein the STEM skills needed to pursue careers in manufacturing.
By completing all the activities in the box, Girl Scouts will earn a Rosie Riveters ExploresManufacturing Fun Patch along with four Brownie badges:
