First Aid/CPR Training

This training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs. Basic First Aid will cover how to identify and deal with various medical emergencies. Some of the areas covered will be bleeding, burns, breaks and heat related emergencies. CPR/AED will cover adult, child and infant CPR. Students will be instructed on how to operate and use an Automated External Defibrillator machine (AED) as well as learn how to handle choking situations. PREREQUISITE: Girl Scout Membership, Eligible Background Check and Girl Scouting 101.

Birdapalooza

Come on down to Birdapalooza where you can observe bird banding, take a guided bus ride and/or guided hike to see additional birds, and check out exhibits, live animal displays, music, nature-inspired merchandise sales and food trucks.

Outdoor Skills – Cabin Camping

This level of camping is geared towards troops/groups wanting to stay in a cabin, lodge or indoor facility while camping. This overnight training will prepare the adult volunteer for this level of camping by teaching outdoor progression, kaper charts, equipment, packing, meal planning and simple outdoor cooking in addition to fire building and campfire program ideas. A Home Study workbook, containing valuable information, is sent to the participant prior to attending the training. There are key points and questions in each section of the workbook. This information is learned at each participant’s own pace and is an important part of the Outdoor Skills training. This workbook must be completed prior to and brought with you to the training. This training is required for troops/groups desiring to stay in cabins, lodges, or indoor facilities while camping. This training starts at 8:00 am on Saturday and ends at 12:00 pm on Sunday. Participants must attend the entire time to be qualified. Prerequisite: Girl Scout Membership, Eligible Background Check and Girl Scouting 101.
