This is not your mother’s career fair…  Are you sick of traditional college and career fairs that tell you ‘what you’re doing wrong’ and “what you should do with your life” and leave you feeling anxious about your future? College fairs might help you learn a bit about different colleges\, but since they are usually hosted by admissions counselors\, you really only get one perspective. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a chance to speak to young alumni and professors directly so that you can really find out if a school is a good fit for you?  Not Your Mother’s Career Fair is a chance to truly learn about career fields that best fit with your personality and interests. Participants will have the opportunity to have informal\, honest conversations with colleges and universities and chat with alumni who can tell you about their personal experiences. Career professionals and companies will be there to offer insight about pursuing your career goals in different fields\, including science\, hospitality\, technology\, health\, and more. In particular\, participants will have the chance to: Take a career assessment and learn about professions that are aligned with their interests Participate in hands-on career workshops led by industry professionals Meet with colleges and universities and learn how to write personal statements and essays for admission applications. Learn how to create an eye-catching resume and stand out during the interview process Learn how to prepare and participate in an interview Learn about internships and summer job opportunities The Career Fair portion of the day will run from 10:30AM – 4:30PM. Those who sign up to attend both the career fair and the overnight will be welcome to join us from 5:00PM – 8:00PM for a pool party (weather permitting) at the Holiday Inn Orlando Suites Water Park. At 8PM\, the overnight will begin. After a day of learning\, let’s have some fun! Starting at 8:00PM\, we will begin an evening of fun and celebration with 4D movies\, games\, a talent show\, dancing and more! Overnight activities include the following: Unlimited access to Batman Laser Maze $10 Arcade Card 4D theater movie and games $10 food and beverage voucher Midnight Talent Show Movies\, dancing and games + more!  This sounds awesome\, where do I sign up!? Career professionals and companies will be there to offer insight about pursuing your career goals in different fields\, including science\, hospitality\, technology\, health\, and more. In particular\, participants will have the chance to: Take a career assessment and learn about professions that are aligned with their interests Participate in hands-on career workshops led by industry professionals Meet with colleges and universities and learn how to write personal statements and essays for admission applications. Learn how to create an eye-catching resume and stand out during the interview process Learn how to prepare and participate in an interview Learn about internships and summer job opportunities The Career Fair portion of the day will run from 8:30AM – 4:00PM. Those who sign up to attend both the career fair and the overnight will be welcome to join us from 4:00PM – 8:00PM for a pool party (weather permitting) and games at the Holiday Inn Orlando Suites Water Park. At 8:30PM\, check-in for the overnight will begin. After a day of learning\, let’s have some fun! SUMMARY:Juniors: Make Pizza and Earn Simple Meals Badge
DESCRIPTION:Participants will visit a CiCis restaurant and receive a behind the scenes tour of the restaurant. They will also have an opportunity to meet and speak with the kitchen staff and the restaurant manager. Each girl will learn how to create a healthy weekday breakfast\, their own personal flatbread pizza\, and a salad. They’ll also learn tips for making brownies healthier. CiCis staff will be on hand to provide assistance to the girls and also discuss ingredients and the preparation of the dough that will be used in making their personal pizzas.   The $10 fee to attend this program includes the cost of the badge and all supplies associated with earning the badge.  Make it a Girl Scout Day on International Drive and head over to Sea Life Aquarium after you’ve earned your Simple Meals badge for  another great Junior program opportunity ! DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Retreat Weekend is a fun and relaxing event for adult Girl Scout members.  You’ll have the opportunity to attend various workshops such as learning a craft to take back to your troops or finding hidden treasures using either clues or GSP coordinates.  You may even discover a hidden talent of story telling. This event is held at our beautiful 250 acre campground where participants will be sleeping in climate controlled cabins.  You can choose to attend for the entire weekend or come just for the day on Saturday.  Cost: $40 Will include registration and sessions for Saturday only $50 Will include registration and sessions for the entire weekend Attendance Options: Entire Weekend: Check in on Friday between 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for an evening of fun before a full day of workshops on Saturday\, and a special workshop session on Sunday! SUMMARY:Art in the Outdoors
DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy looking at how beautiful nature is\, then come and learn to create unique activities by taking a walk outdoors. Spend this afternoon looking at Nature in a new way and be able to create beautiful arts and crafts. By participating in this event\, girls will have completed the requirements for the Art in the Outdoors badge.  Fee includes: program\, badge & a snack. Girls will earn Art in the Outdoor Badge Registered Adults are required to meet the adult/girl ratio. Adults are responsible for girls at all times. Only girls will be participating in the activities.  Program Fee: Girl Member $10 per person Adult member $2.00  Program Level: Currently registered as a Brownie or Junior Registration Deadline: Monday\, March 6th or when program is full Please Note: Only registered members may attend – Please no tagalongs
