Girls Code program hosted by IBM

January 21, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

$5

Join us for “Girls Code!” – a program hosted by skilled coding instructors from IBM that will teach you the basics of coding, how to build and edit your own website, how to program and insert commands, and more! This program is a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn directly from professionals and immerse yourself in coding! Why should girls learn to code, you ask? There are so many reasons! In addition to helping bridge the gender gap in the technology industry, learning to code helps girls build their problem-solving and STEM skills. Check out some of the other reasons listed in this great  Huffington Post article. This is a 3 hour long coding program. Breaks, including lunch, will be provided and girls will earn a fun patch for their hard work. The location is SunRidge Middle School (14955 Sunridge Blvd, Winter Garden, FL 34787) This program is open to members only and girls must be Cadettes, Seniors or Ambassadors. You will be set up with a Bluemix account prior to attending the coding class. Instructions for the account will be sent to you once you register. All of the girls participating MUST have their own email account in order to access the Bluemix login information created for them. Please contact our customer care team at 407-896-4475 or customercare@citrus-gs.org if you have any questions or issues registering for this program. Don’t delay, reserve your spot today! The registration deadline is January 16th.
