Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, Rosie Riveters, and FloridaMakes have partnered together to create awareness and confidence in young girls to pursue careers in the manufacturing field. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, American manufacturers are facing a looming shortage of 2.4 million workers by 2028 (and potentially nearly half a trillion dollars in lost GDP), so now is the perfect time to encourage girls to pursue careers in manufacturing and all the jobs associated with it.
The Rosie Explores Manufacturing kits are pre-built hands-on and interactive lessons based on providing a productive struggle to buile participants’ critical thinking, problem solving skills, and overall confidence in the STEM skills needed to pursue careers in manufacturing.
The box includes four innovative kits highlight manufacturing career pathways and empower leaders to guide their Girl Scouts in hands-on STEM activities.
Completion of all the activities in the Box will earn a Brownie Girl Scout a Rosie Riveters Explores Manufacturing Fun Patch along with four Brownie badges: Automotive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering: Fling Flyer, Designing Robots, and the STEM Career Exploration badge.
